Inside Out, Pixar's 15th feature film, released nation wide yesterday to an outstanding critical concesus with a spectacular 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Of 180 reviews, only 4 were rotten, with the other 176 being positive. Critics and audiences alike have been clamoring to see this film and that has definitely proven with not only their words but also their wallets. Inside Out, beating out Universal's juggernaut Jurassic World, scored an impressive $34.2 Million on opening day, just ahead of Jurassic World's $29.1 Million. Inside Out's impressive opening is the #2 biggest opening day in Pixar history, right behind 2010's Toy Story 3 with $41.1 Million. More on Inside Out's impressive score at the box office, on Rotten Tomatoes, and what this means for the future of Inside Out and Pixar's upcoming films all after the break!
As a Pixar fan, I often find myself overwhelmed by emotion when I watch some of their very best: Up, Toy Story 3, WALL-E, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, etc… The past three Pixar films, Cars 2, Brave, and Monsters University, even with their lack of raving reviews that always seem to betroth Pixar whenever a new comes out, I found to still have many beautiful moments of Pixar magic. But Inside Out. Inside Out is different. Inside Out is heart-warming. Inside Out is hilarious. Inside Out is dazzling. Inside Out is exciting. Most importantly, though; Inside Out is true. Whether you're an old reader or a new reader, you would know by reading this blog that Pixar's November 25th, 2015 release of The Good Dinosaur has had some of the hardest trouble getting to the big screen of any of their feature films. In an interview with Peter Sohn conducted by Yahoo! Movies, and a separate article by The Telegraph, we have learned not only the reason behind the recent recasting of the film, but also the meaning of the title, and further details about the type of film Sohn has set out to show the world. Check out all of this plus a breathtaking international (French) poster that dropped online last night all after the break!
Two years ago, Disney/Pixar fans thought they had a grip on what to expect from the now November 25th, 2015 release of The Good Dinosaur. However, after the director switch, release date being pushed back, and major story changes, our latest news from the fast approaching film's release comes as a bit of a surprise, one might I add that I still am not sure how to explain or respond to. The film has a completely new cast, featuring vastly different talents than the previous announcement from two years ago, as well as new characters replacing ones that we had previously thought were in the film. Find out what talent will (and will not) be in The Good Dinosaur all after the break!
As my final order of The Art of Inside Out came yesterday, after a longed awaited arrival starting from a damaged shipment, I was curious about an details concerning the second "art of" book coming from Pixar for 2015, that being The Art of THE GOOD DINOSAUR. Luckily, I found an interesting image online of the preliminary cover for the book. However, more can be found in the image than just for 'The Good Dino'. Check out the cover for The Art of THE GOOD DINOSAUR as well as more details concerning other art books coming from Pixar this year all after the break!
