Our first clip from Disney/Pixar's November 25th release of The Good Dinosaur debuted online today via the Disney UK YouTube page! The clip features Arlo and Poppa bonding over a breathtaking night sequence, complete with a beautiful score by composers Michael and Jeff Danna and Sound Design by Craig Berkey. In addition to the new clip, four online spots were posted over the past month or so revealing some new footage from the film. Check out the new clip and spots after the break! This clip perfectly exemplifies the beauty and majesty that The Good Dinosaur looks to perfect with Pixar's world building techniques. The combination of the breathtaking scenery, lighting design by Pixar veteran Sharon Callahan, and again the unique score and meticulous atmospheric sound design, is pulled together in this complex, yet very sincere package. One of the shots that really stood out to me was of the fire-fly trailing Arlo's muzzle- I suppose it was the combination of the intricate animation of the bug, the sound effects, and the depth-of-field play of the camera. I took a screen shot to better display what I'm talking about below since I thought the shot was particularly noteworthy. The other thing that this clip does is give more depth and meaning to the promo shot seen in previous trailers of Arlo showing Spot the fire-flies dancing. The relationship between Arlo and Poppa is clearly very important to the young Apatosaurus, and that link is furthered later on in the film when Arlo passes on his fond memory of being with his father to his new friend. Here are the four Good Dinosaur YouTube Spots:The Good Dinosaur asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
