EllenTube debuted the official first teaser trailer for Pixar's June 2016's release of Finding Dory, the much anticipated sequel to 2003's Finding Nemo! The teaser trailer hilariously showcases Dory actually remembering something... or does she?! Find out by watching the Teaser Trailer for Finding Dory after the break! Finding Dory reunites the friendly-but-forgetful blue tang fish with her loved ones, and everyone learns a few things about the true meaning of family along the way. Featuring the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, as Dory, Albert Brooks as Marlin, Diane Keaton as Dory's mom Jenny, Eugene Levy as Dory's dad Charlie and Ty Burrell as Bailey.
The teaser trailer is absolutely hilarious! And it does the job of teasing audiences about the basic premise of the film perfectly. One thing to note is that nearly all of the footage in the teaser is taken from clips shown at this years D23 Expo, which is nice to know that we aren't getting too much new footage with the film still nearly 8 months from it's release. Also to note is the beautiful new rendering technology showcased in the teaser. Although Finding Dory is coming 13 years after the original film, the world, while more sophisticated in its lighting and textures, still feels the same. This is most likely because of how well fleshed out the original world showcased in Finding Nemo was built. Finding Nemo, even twelve years after its initial release, doesn't feel dated. And while obviously the improved technology and rendering systems create even more visually stunning characters and backgrounds, everything still feels like home. I know I'm just saying this because I'm a Pixar nut, but Finding Dory truly looks like it will be on the level of the Toy Story trilogy sequels. I am so happy that Ellen DeGeneres is back doing her thing- her voice as Dory is quite possibly the best Pixar casting in any of their films. Her quick, poignant humor and heartwarming voice make me feel like a 6 year old again seeing Finding Nemo for the first time. Talk about nostalgia! I am so excited for this film's release and to see director Andrew Stanton back at the helm of one of the very best Pixar properties. Finding Dory swims into theaters on June 17th, 2016! |
