Think you've opened all of your Christmas presents? You my be suprised to find one more not under the tree, but rather online. Pixar's present to us has come in the form of a first look image and article presented by Entertainment Weekly of Pixar's November 22nd, 2017 feast, Coco. Featuring the very first still image from the upcoming film, the new article presents Coco as both an interesting take on the movie musical as well as an aformentioned Love Letter to Mexico. Check out the first image of Pixar's Coco and full EW artcile after the break!
Entertainment Weekly: Coco first look- Pixar's pivotal, musical moment:At the center of Pixar’s next original film, Coco, is a 12-year-old boy who’s breaking all the rules — or at least his family’s.
Coco is shaping up to be a truly special film. Between the dedication to authentically depicting Mexican culture to the exciting new announcement of the special place music will hold in the film, Coco is now our most anticapted Pixar film. I also want to note that the lighting design showcased in the stunning film still is the work of none other than Sharon Calahan, Pixar's longtime lighting deisgner who never seizes to amaze us with her beautiful key lighting and shading deisgn. From the glow of De La Cruz's guitar head to the ambiant warmth from the glowing orange leaves and the cold shine of moonlight through the mauseleum windows, the lighting in this first look image is truly remarkable.
