With the D23 Expo 2017 just one week away, exciting new details are emerging of some of the events that will take place featuring the work of artists in Emeryville! Alongside the "Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios: The Upcoming Films" panel hosted by John Lasseter on Friday, July 14th, two film-centric concept art signings will take place for both Incredibles 2 and Coco! The schedule of events on the D23 Expo 2017 app now showcases the art that will be signed at these booth events- yes, our first look at Incredibles 2 concept art! Check out the full piece of concept art for Incredibles 2 after the break! Signing: "Incredibles 2" Director & Producers Event:At the D23 Expo 2017 on next Friday, July 14th, Director Brad Bird and Producers Nicole Paradis Grindle and John Walker will sign copies of the first piece of released concept art for Incredibles 2, the long-awaited and much-anticipated sequel to 2004's The Incredibles. The new piece of concept art is below: While this is not high resolution given the only access to the image is from the D23 Expo 2017 app, we are able to decipher information from the image. The entire team of supers from the original film, including Mr. Incredible (aka Bob Parr), Elastigirl (aka Helen Parr), Violet Parr, Dash Parr, Jack Jack Parr, and Frozone (aka Lucius Best), are all included. Additionally, fan-favorite Edna Mode can be seen in the bottom left-hand corner alongside The Underminer's vehicle from the very end of the first film. Additionally, Mr. Incredible's vehicle from the beginning of the first film can be seen in the bottom-right hand corner. The most notable information from this piece is that all of the characters are seemingly of the same age as they were from the first film. The discussion of whether or not the characters would have aged just as the film itself has aged has been a very large point of contention amongst fan communities when discussing the sequel. The one new addition to the concept art is the feature of a raccoon character above the force-field bubble that Violet has concocted. Will the raccoon be a new family pet? Who knows. It is also possible that this piece of concept art was designed specifically to mislead us into thinking that specific details are true given that the art signing is happening several hours before the animation presentation, which will surely give us confirmed information. Regardless, it's fun to speculate!
