Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios have officially released the teaser trailer for Summer 2018's INCREDIBLES 2. Watch the teaser trailer below:
INCREDIBLES 2: Official Teaser Trailer
Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
What You Need To Know.
Although the official film synopsis does a good job of outlining the overall story of Incredibles 2, there are several other pieces of information that we have been given over the course of the past year that are important details. First and foremost, the Parr family's new adventure begins right where the first film left-off. John Ratzenberger is reprising his role as The Underminer, the villian who was teased at the very end of the first film. Pixar CCO John Lasseter revealed during D23 Expo 2017 that Incredibles 2 "starts right as the first one finishes, so it just carries on." He added, "It starts with the Underminer and a big old set piece. You know that at the end of the first movie when he comes up and you see the family dressed as superheroes, well that's where start this movie."
We also know that returning director Brad Bird has teased that Incredibles 2 will dive deeper into the world of the Supers, suggesting that we will be introduced to new Supers, Villians, and other parts of the world beyond Metroville and Nomanisan Island (SO EXCITING!!!). We also know from the images revealed at D23 Expo 2017 that because the film starts off right where the original ended, the characters are the same age as they were from the first. As exciting as it would have been to see a teenage Jack-Jack, and 20-something Dash and Violet, it is still fun to see the characters reprised from the ages that we remember so vividly. Besides, waiting to age-up the characters may be a tease for future Incredibles films.
New Casting Announcement.
The Tracking Board reported yesterday before the teaser trailer announcement that Bob Odenkirk and Katherine Keener have been cast in Incredibles 2. Odenkirk is best known for starring in Better Call Saul, as well as having a supporting role in Breaking Bad, and writing for Saturday Night Live. Nelson (Bob Parr- aka Mr. Incredible), Holly Hunter (Helen Parr- aka Elastigirl), Sarah Vowell (Violet Parr), Huck Milner (Dash Parr), Samuel L. Jackson (Lucius- aka Frozone), John Ratzenberger (The Underminer), and director Brad Bird (Edna Mode) to fill out the cast of Incredibles 2.
