The Facebook page for The Good Dinosaur released the first international trailer for the film yesterday, which with just over a minute of footage shows off some new clips as well as recycled shots from the official teaser and theatrical trailers. Check out the new International Spanish Trailer and Australian Poster for The Good Dinosaur after the break!
Short but sweet. One of interesting aspects of this trailer that I'd like to highlight is from the very beginning with the three or four brief shots we get of Arlo's father, Poppa. The relationship that Arlo and Poppa have in the film seems to be very significant. *SPOILER ALERT* Although some may not know this, it has been repeatedly noted that Poppa dies from a tragic accident near the beginning of the film which sets Arlo off on his journey back home. Director Peter Sohn has noted that the relationship between Arlo and Poppa mirrors the one Sohn has with his father. While his father is still alive, Sohn has spoken about how his father was a very steadfast worker during his childhood. Knowing that Arlo's family lives in a farming community, it is very possible that Arlo's relationship with his hardworking father may be distant, which would somehow connect Arlo's longing for his father with Sohn's longing for a closer relationship with his own father. Whatever may turn out to be the case in the film, I am sure that Sohn has brought many of his own life experiences into the story that the film follows, which is unique since he was brought on as the main director only a year and a half ago. Keep an eye out for an official second theatrical trailer for the film, since we are nearing only two months until The Good Dinosaur's release on November 25th!
