You read that headline correctly. The official Japanese international trailer for Walt Disney Animation Studios' November 23rd epic Moana has broke online! Featuring the titular character in all of her inquisitive glory, the Japanese trailer showcases some of the latest and greatest Disney magic to hit the silver screen in, well, a long, long time. So without further ado, please watch the Japanese international trailer for Moana after the break! MOANA Japanese International Trailer #1:Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”) and produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), “Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016. Not only is the footage shown in this trailer breathtaking in it's simplicity and beauty, but also in it's majesty. This very footage was part of the Moana presentation shown at the Animation Presentation during the D23 Expo 2015 from Anaheim last year. It brings me much joy to finally have the gorgeous scene of toddler Moana first meeting the ocean online for the world to see. I hope you now know why Moana is as anticipated of a film as it deserves to be.
Disney Animation is in their stride and look to only continue bringing us the very same magic that first brought the studio to it's glory. Moana sails into theaters this Thanksgiving on November 23rd. |
