What To Expect At D23- Walt Disney Animation Studios Presentations

With the D23 Expo 2015 starting tomorrow, it comes as no surprise that there is much to look forward to for Disney Animation fans! The big Animation Presentation, held tomorrow, Friday Aug. 14th, at 3pm and hosted by WDAS CCO John Lasseter, along with a Zootopia Presentation on Saturday, flesh out the highlights of what to get really excited about concerning the future of WDAS's film slate! Every Story Is a Journey: The Upcoming Films of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios (Friday, August 14, 3:00 pm, Hall D23)
After meeting the Emotions inside the mind of an 11-year-old, taking a trip to San Fransokyo where a boy genius and his robot save the world, and falling in love with a queen with icy powers who wants to ‘let it go,’ come see where Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios plan to take you next. In what has become a D23 Expo must-see, host John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, presents ‘Every Story is a Journey.’ Filmmakers will unveil never-before-seen footage from Pixar’s upcoming The Good Dinosaur and Finding Dory and Disney Animation’s Zootopia and Moana. The event will include surprise announcements, musical performances, and appearances by the films’ star voice talent. Cell phones, cameras and all recording devices will be checked for this presentation.

Welcome to Zootopia, a magnificent mammal metropolis, and home to Walt Disney Animation Studios’ next feature, the comedy-adventure Zootopia. Join directors Byron Howard (Tangled, Bolt) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph), producer Clark Spencer (Wreck-It Ralph, Bolt), and artists from the incredible production team as they introduce rookie rabbit-officer Judy Hopps, con-artist fox Nick Wilde, and a host of dynamic animal characters, sharing footage and behind-the-scenes stories with D23 EXPO-goers.

But Wait, There's More:
At the main Hall D23 Animation Presentation, John Lasseter will be giving us an exclusive scoop on WDAS's upcoming 2016 films, Zootopia and Moana. From just a speculation standpoint, I have a feeling that since Zootopia has a whole separate presentation dedicated to a behind-the-scenes look, we will probably be getting mostly Moana news- concept art, first-look renders of the main characters, even minor plot points. What is vaguely announced, however, are the special surprises that Lasseter has in store for us. After he's done with Zootopia and Moana, Lasseter will most likely reveal details about atlas one if not two of the films in development at WDAS. My best guess is that we will be hearing an official announcement of the long anticipated and rumored film 'Giants,' and probably either an announcement of a sequel to Wreck-It Ralph or 'Frozen 2' details. I personally couldn't care less about the idea of a Frozen 2, but I would definitely be on board for a Ralph sequel. So, expect the unexpected and get excited because we have some very exciting announcements coming!
